O-rings can be used in static or dynamic applications. The sealing effect is achieved by compressing the torus shaped ring creating interference between the sealing surfaces and the rubber ring.
Standard Molded O-Rings
Low cost and simple solution used in many applications
Many standard sizes available from stock in Metric, Inch and Japanese standards
Available in many materials, hardnesses and colors
Most common material is NBR, FKM, EPDM and Silicone. FDA compliant and other materials are available on request
O-Ring Cord
Continuous extruded length of an o-ring cross section
Many customers buy cord to splice o-rings into their application when installing an endless o-ring is not possible
Lengths can be supplied based on customer request
Vulcanized and Spliced
Rings can be custom sized for your application using these methods
These methods are used for o-rings that are too large to mold as one piece
Vulcanizing connects the ends of o-ring cord using heat and specialized bonding agent
Splicing connects the ends of o-ring cord using standard bonding agent
Spliced o-rings should only be used in static sealing applications
Molded Profile Rings
Rings have a round cross section and are custom engineered to your application’s specific requirements
A good solution for customers who are unsatisfied with o-ring performance in a profiled groove
Can generate cost savings at the assembly stage by reducing assembly time
